In XBMC, I have configured the sound as follows;
Audio ouput > HDMI
Audio output device > Defaults
Custom audio device > hw:1,7
These settings enable sound through my HDMI port.
One minor problem I am having is that when I the turn the volume up or down within XBMC I get the error message 'Passthrough Audio In Use'.
Is there a work a round for this?
BTW, I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Revo 3700.

Found this thread after a deeper search within.
It seems internal volume doesn't work when audio is set to a pass through device....

that's not an error message. ;-)
it's xbmc notifying you that it can not control the volume. when passthrough is in use, the sound (bitstream) is send unaltered to your receiver / tv. you should control the volume on those devices. Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forum before posting. Do not PM or e-mail XBMC-Team members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules. For troubleshooting and bug reporting please make sure you read this first. |
