I tried the Simplicity skin and really liked the "TV Guide" feature. Can this be added to Confluence?

Hmmmm, im sure it can, and has been done
check out this post. http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=82065 and go to the last page (19 and post #185) that is my version of confluence. i modified it to my liking including the tv guide since i saw it in simplicity and i liked it too.

let me know if you have any questions. im still tweaking it, some so ill update it once i finish. but let me know if you find any issues, as i am the only one testing it out (cause i designed it for me )
