hi again!

a new release for you, this time it's music video site muzu.tv

it's available in my repo which is also available using the Un-official Repository Installer

xbox users can install from xbmc4xbox-addons using the SVN repo installer.

there are already quite a few features including:
  • browse videos by genre
  • search videos
  • uk top 40 charts
  • jukebox mode (play all songs by an artist or use 'jam' mode for a selection of similar videos)
  • featured playlists
  • channel browsing by genre
  • randomising of playlists
  • high quality mode setting
  • select your country

check out the addon settings for all available options.

some notes:
  • you may find a glitch or two, maybe i'll smooth them out later (let me know if there's something that really irritates you!)
  • country selection defaults to 'gb'. this seems to give you the most videos, but there may be some content only available in other countries (in playlists/channels).
  • country selection does not affect browse or search as these both find results available to any and all countries
  • haven't included any features that require logging in
  • high quality mode is too high for me to stream (can be up to 2mbps). yeah, i'm living in the middle of a city in the UK and can't get 2mbps internet connection Sad

changelog:
Version 0.1.4
- fix chart listings

Version 0.1.3
- fix unicode logging stupidity

Version 0.1.2
- ugly bodge to try and make playlists/jukebox work on 10.1

Version 0.1.1
- muzu can't spell acoustic ;-)
- unicode fix

Version 0.1.0
- Initial version

feel free to add your complaints/suggestions/praise below or send your pull requests via github Big Grin

thanks,

t0mm0

Thanks for making this t0mm0. Can't wait to give it a try. I just tried installing it but didn't manage to do so; info below:

The Addon has not appeared in your repo within XBMC, so I tried getting the zip file from Github, but installation failed when I did "install from zip". I just tried unzipping it on my PC and 7zip throws up the error "Can not open file 'C:\plugin.video.muzu.tv-0.1.1.zip' as archive"

it is definitely in the repo - make sure you do a force refresh.

install works fine on my machines and the zip opens fine in file roller on linux so not sure what the problem is. maybe try making sure there is no trace of plugin.video.muzu.tv-0.1.1.zip in [userdata]/addons/packages/ ?

not sure what else to suggest...

Success!

Sorry about that. School-boy error! Once I did the force refresh it was there and installed OK. Now to have a play around Smile

This is really a great addon for a great site! The videos are in very good quality (hard to find low quality videos) and they have a huge collection for all kind of music.
Some problems I noticed: The Jukebox and Playlist functions don't work for me (xbmc freezes).
- Jukebox: when searching for Artist videos or Jam, xbmc freezes
- Playlists: everywhere when trying to list the videos, xbmc freezes

Unfortunatelly there's no error message on the xbmc.log file.

t0mm0, do you have any idea why this happens? (I'm using win 7).
Please, tell me if you need more details.

Thanks!

thanks for giving it a good test!

a debug log might help even if there is no error as it might let me know how far it's getting
before freezing.

playlist and jukebox modes both currently create a playlist and start playing it maybe there is a problem with that.

what version of xbmc are you using (10.1? nightly?) i haven't fully tested on 10.1....

thanks,

Thank You x 100 t0mm0 Wink

Forced refresh and the Muzu.tv plugin is showing up.

This works really well Smile will try it on the ipad app later and report back.

Edit; - I'm using a nightly build and w7 32bit, I'm not getting any of the problems perro6969 is getting

First of all, thanks again! It's great. The search, browse, and charts features seem to work flawlessly. It's a great site to be able to view through XBMC.

However, I seem to be having the same problem as perro6969: XBMC freezes on use of the jukebox and playlist functions.

The jukebox feature lets you select from "artist videos" or "jam", but after you enter the search term it just freezes.
full debug log: http://pastebin.com/GneHtkNC

The playlist feature lets you select which playlist you would like, but then freezes when it tries to list the tracks

hmmm, looks like it adds the tracks to the playlist, then freezes when trying to play the first one. i'll have to have a think about that. weird how it only happens for some people. i'll see what i can do....
