I recently bought the E350m1 on suggestion of a forum member (looking to build an HTPC)
I was also shown an internal IR sensor

But cannot install it
Has anyone successfully installed an internal IR sensor, there's not much documentation on it

Why cant you install it? It just goes onto a usb header like your front usb ports of your case.

I've connected it to the USB header and it has be recognized by Windows 7 but it can't see the remote
Do the 5V pin or other 2 pins from the receiver need to be plugged it?

No, it does not.
Did you also purchase the remote?

Make sure the battery is good and use the remote configuration software to flash the factory default setting BIN file again.

If still no vail, contact me to get an replacement.

I didn't purchase the remote because the person who pointed out the internal sensor said any MC6 remote would work so I have been using a 360 remote

I flashed the sensor back to the factory settings and still the remote cannot be recognized
