Latest build ATV2 MP3 playback
#1
Hi guys,

I just installed latest build by keith, now MP3 music playback just seem to "hang" the ATV2 completely. only option is to reboot the unit to get it back on.

Here's my current setup:

ATV2 4.1.1
Darwin 10.4.0
Pre 11.0 GIT 20110507-4b18017

I uploaded the XBMC.Log contents here: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/607808/

Would updating to 4.3 and JB'ing etc help?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention, playing video files workd perfectly, also with audio.

I have the same issue with the newest build, that workaround works for me although obviously it's not ideal. Have to hit play twice in rapid succession.

This seem to work as long as I hit play twice fast enough, thanks!
Maybe someone else has a mere solution to this bug?

Same issue, but to add the 'click play several times quickly' will get it to play, but the audio is very choppy, and after that, play restarts the track rather than pausing it (and then didn't seem too keen on exiting either)

ATV2 iOS 4.3 (8F305)
XBMC PRE-11.0 Git:20110619
installed using NitoTV

reproducable by trying to play any music file (tried mp3 and m4a)- hit play once, it looks like it will start, gets to 00:01 and does nothing
hit play again and it bombs - i then killed the process

to keep it as simple as i could, i copied one of the windoze sample mp3's to the device so we can't blame the network or a fussy mp3

bombing:

hit play a million times and stuttering:

Read this thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=806...tcount=373
works perfect for me.

Same issue playing mp3 files here as well. I'll try the workaround but I gotta wonder why a known issue makes it into a new official release (no offense intended).

patches welcome Smile when we don't have a fix, there's nothing to fix.

Just because we push out a release does not mean all issues are fixed. If it worked that way, You would never see any release at all.

I completely agree. However playback of music in its most widespread digital format seems like a core functionality of a media center software to me so I'm just saying this will lead to some frustration amongst users.

It most definately will DarkH.

I noticed something else weird. With the new release my MP3 playback stutters like hell. Looking at the CPU usage it hovers around 93%(!) so that might explain.
I just reverted back to Keith's 18-06 build and it went back to around 65%, playing just fine.
Can someone confirm on MP3 playback with the new release?

Is no one else experiencing this problem?

Yeah it is terrible. The dvdplayer for audio stutters terribly as well.

toadys build seems to be sweet with MP3s. Haven't played many, but looks good.

Are you referring to "release build" 10.0.0.8 or Keith's build 18-Jun-2011 12:43?
