[WINDOWS] mkv files

I'm sure someone has already asked this but I can't seem to find it.

How do I play mkv files?

Every time I attempt to play an mkv file I get "failed to initialise audio device".

Can anyone tell me is there a quick fix to this?

Check your audio output settings (settings / system / audio output).
