Movies not showing covers

try removing the movie.tbn file and see what happens. Have you tried using a media manager program.

might want to check the sticky on scraping issues.

Hudson,

I removed it. I am afraid it made no difference. I do use EMM.

OK... (edited) I thought that I had fixed it , but I had not.

What I did was to delete *.tbn, *.nfo files from all the movie folders.

I deleted the movie source completely.

I restarted XBMC. I reset the sources, but did not run the scan, nor update the library.

In non-library mode, it all looks fine... with nice poster art work shown.

BUT, at the business end, in LIBRARY MODE, all I still have are the movie clips !!

What do I do now ?

Hudson,
Thanks for trying to help. It is really frustrating. FYI, this is the same result for all the HTPC's in my house.

check under video settings file lists is extract thumbnails and video info checked. A synopsis of the features is in the link above. Also I found MQ2 buggy as hell for me, had a hell of a time navigating.

seeing as your movie structure is:

The structure is:
X:\Movies\Movie_Name (YYYY)\Movie_Name.mkv

do you have both Use Foldername for Lookups and scan recursively enabled ?

i think it is time to re trace your steps, when did this problem first present itself? What have you changed that may have caused or contributed to this issue.

Why do u have 2 fanarts, 2 .nfos and 2 posters?
Can u move those out and then try refreshing just one movie?

I had done that. This made no difference. XMBC seems to be ignoring what is in the movie directory.

Is there a location that it checks first before it looks for artwork in the movie directory ?

OK,

a week or so ago, I tried to set up 'synchronise libraries with mysql'. Could not get it going, so I aborted, and uninstalled MySql - on the W7 server

that is most likely what is causing the issue, as when the master db becomes corrupted the rest follow suit. when I tired it I had trouble as well, ended up removing mysql and the databases and the advanced xml settings file. Re scraped each machine and the rest is history. Unless you want to try and fix the master db, and in doing that I am at a complete loss.

Hope this helps.
