If you don't mind waiting, just go with a site like meritline.com or any number or eBay sellers that will ship to Canada. I got my cables from meritline for about $2 with free shipping.
MicroUSB is also used for charging on a lot of cellphones, so you could also ask around to see if anyone had a charger that "plugs into the 'puter" to borrow for that initial jailbreak.

...or borrow from someone that has an e-book reader. My Nook came with one & recall someone saying that the Kindle does as well.

Be careful with the one's used for phones. Lots of them don't handle data..only charging. I found out the hard way.

I used a Nokia one. I think it came with my X6, but it also works with my C3-01.

If you need to pick one up Walmart has them for $10 (in Canada anyway).

ended up getting appletv2 - 129 - fshop
micro usb cable - only one was 29 in bbuy - a universal thing
then realised i needed
a digital audio convertor as i only have a dvi in on my old tv - 70buck
a optical cable and rca cable - 35
not cheap.. now i would love some advice on what best add ons to install - especially canadian ones
cant seem to work pesudo
