Why try to send video instead of play localy?

Hi guys,
I'm new in XBMC remote from android but I think it's really great!
I have a question: it happened to me that I've tryed to play a video that I have in my Android phone and xbmc remote was trying to sent if to my netbook (where usually runs xbmc)... an error occurse saying that xbmc can't paly the video and after that I was able to play it with my android phone.
How does it works? I'd like to use xbmc only to play the video/music in the configured library not the video files I have localy in my phone. :confused2:

It is meant to play videos when you open a video or audio url. The remote would send the link to xbmc and xbmc would play it.

Can be disabled that feature?
In the settings I didn't found nothing and in my opinion can be usefull (eg: privacy) to chose where to see the vide: in the tv or in the phone...

Thnaks for response.
