Re-Newbie questions....

I used XBMC about a year ago....new screens, interfaces are beautifule. Hope you pardon re-newbie questions:

1) How do you change volume inside xbmc
2) how do you change from full screen to window? Is there a toggle?
3) I added a video tv show source, folder structure:

Media Files
TV Underground
a-n
Program Title
Episode 1x1 - title.mp4
Episode 1x2 - title.mp4
Program 2 title
Episode 1x1 - pgm 2 title.mp4

The problem is, I have thousands of episodes (5 tb) and it wont index anything. I somehow forced it once and it indexed about 160 items under the tv show name 'Pan-Am', 99+ episodes, which is totally wrong!!!! Then it say 'script error' and died.....

This is a standard letter-mounted disk (CIFS: / NAS) running on a windows 7 system

My music seems to index from the same NAS/CIFS, different directory, just fine, it is taking about 1-2 hours to do 10,000 songs.

Just the tv is wrong and I can't get it to do anything with my movies directory.

I'll do the easy questions since I don't know much about the library:

1. + or - to increase or decrease the volume. Also, for compatability with Windows Media center F10 and F9 increase and decrease the volume, and F8 mutes the sound.

2. use the backslash, \, key and in Windows alt-Enter also works.

Is there a key sheet that shows all the shortcuts?

Does XBMC work with the mac mini remote? Or a remote control?

I can run it on a mac mini or a PC

I've used addon ir recvrs before on a pc, so know about them. Does xbmc support them?

Or is a remote kb/mouse the preferred usage for this?

Have a quick look in the wiki to see if naming it slightly differently could help

Did you - by any chance - select the option "Scan recursively"? It seems like XBMC is trieing to identify a show based on the folder name "a-n", maybe it would help to actually add those subfolders instead of the root-folder (so make a source for "a-n", "m-whatever", and so on).

Another possibility would be to place a "tvshow.nfo" inside the folder of the specific show, XBMC will use this to scrape.

Somewhat to my surprise there isn't a Wiki article that lists all the key mappings. As it happens I'm working on a help feature for XBMC that will show you a list of possible key mappings. For now have a look at:

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/blob/master...yboard.xml

This is an XML config file, so it's not intended to be human readable, but it's fairly clear what keys do what actions.

There are several Wiki articles that describe use of remote controls with XBMC. Start with http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Usi..._with_XBMC and go from there. If you use the Mac version of XBMC on your Mac Mini the remote should work out of the box. This seems an obvious statement, but then I run XP/Bootcamp on my Mac Mini and I use a Microsoft remote.

You can use a remote keyboard/mouse. As it happens, at the moment I'm using the Microsoft IR keyboard, though this is for testing and it's big and clunky compared to the MS IR remote handset. I've also used a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse with great success. However I would normally just use a Microsoft remote. XBMC is designed to be fully controllable with a remote control.
