A hint would be great!
Thanks!

Everything is here : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=126502

And here : http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add...the_images

Basically, you change the xbmc.gui in addon.xml and update the call to images. For example, iof Night needs to show a poster, you put "ListItem.Art(poster)" instead of thew old way of calling the poster.

So is that the only file that needs to be updated? I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing when it comes to coding....but I really miss this skin.

Anybody have time to update this for Frodo? Maybe a bribe...err donation?

You need to change the addon.xml first. Then open up the ViewsVideoLibrary.xml and change the calls ("ListItem.Art(*)") for the images, where * can be poster, banner, etc... See the link I provided to have a full list of available images.

Overall, it might be done in about 2-3 hours max.

Thanks Balinus. Maybe I can have a look this weekend. I'd love to try and learn some of this stuff. I appreciate what you guys do...skinning sounds difficult.

Hey,
I had Night working on Eden before but after upgrading windows today (clean install) it's not working anymore. If i recall correctly i installed it 6-7 months ago through ur repo. It said "broken" there but I think but I could still could install it and everything I needed worked perfectly. Anyway chance i can get it back working? If i try to install via zip it says "dependencies not met".. Do u happen to have the 2.0.2 version..? I think that was the one i had.

This one here wont install.

Well, I only have the latest version which is 2.0.5. The dependencies should be OK. When you did your clean install, you used XBMC Eden or Frodo? Because all dependencies should be OK for Eden.

Since you did a clean install, the XBMc database should be OK. Do you have the log? I mean, when you try to install from zip.

I'm on 12.2 Frodo (win8.1 pro now) and ur skin worked fine on Frodo (win8) before. Is "skin.night.zip" found on the link above source code only? I tried to install it lol and it gave me "dependencies not met" Big Grin
Since it wont install i extracted the "skin.night.zip" in "appdata>roaming>XBMC>addon" folder and the skin kinda worked (2.0.5). Look at the screenshot, how do i get rid of the blue text on upper corners?
http://share.pho.to/3rlLV
Can u please uoload the 2.0.5 from ur addons folder? Smile

Sorry for wasting ur time but I have been using ur skin for over 3 years and it's really hard to let it go!

Strange that it works with Frodo.

To get rid of the blue text, delete the Custom_Overlay.xml file. That's an error on my side to have included that file.

Since you're using Frodo, I suggest you go into addon.xml and change the "xbmc.gui=3.00" to "xbmc.gui=4.0.0" . Notice the added comma between the last two zeros.

The only version I have of skin Night is the one on googlecode server. I don't have it locally. Or should I say, I use Gotham on my dev (and only) laptop.

Yay, thanks a lot man, it's working totally fine on Frodo 12.2. I'm telling u, more than 95% of the things works and the skin is still completely usable. You should take a look into it and change some things here and there. Then release an official version so others can also have this awesome skin Smile I've tried most of the others but I always come back to night, It's nice, clean and simple after customizing

Thanks once again, im sticking with it for forseeable future.

Hi,
I've been using night for years on my custom build media center, but I recently switched to raspbmc, customised it to my liking, and copied the skin on it, but it's extremely slow when switching windows (the skin seems to update with a framerate of a few fps and takes about 3 seconds for the effect to complete), wherever the raspbmc skin is very fluid.
Did I screwed something when installed it (bad file maybe ?) or is it some optimization specific to raspbmc ?

Maybe look in addon.xml and look at the value of "effectslowdown". Might be the problem. Otherwise, maybe raspberry are not powerful enough for Night?.
