Which platform (Win/Linux/OS-X)?
#1
I recently got a MacMini which I want to connect to my TV and run XBMC on it. I want to watch Live-TV and recordings in connection with XBMC as well, but I have not yet decided which backend to use for this. The backend will be on a separate 24/7-Server and I'm free to choose between TVHeadend, VDR, MythTV, MediaPortal and Argus.
As I'm able to run Windows7, Linux and OS-X on the Mac, I'm wondering which platform is best to use in connection with XBMC-PVR. Looking at some Wikis I should be able install XBMC from an external source or compile it myself on Linux, but for OS-X and Windows I won't be able to compile myself.

Looking at functionality and stability, are there any differences between the builds for Windows and Linux (I haven't seen any for OS-X yet).

Can someone please give me some advise on this?

use the platform you're most comfortable with. to a large extent it's irrelevant.

You dont really need to compile from source on Linux.
