MCE Remotes!

Yeah yeah before everyone screams - yes another posting, request for info.

I've looked and looked and looked, and now gone mad!

Can someone please in idiot form give me an idea what I need to change either within the keyboard.xml or windows reg to allow a MS MCE RC16 remote to control the volume of XBMC application NOT the windows volume?

the remote presently changes the windows volume and when using the keyboard i can change XBMC via plus and minus.

Any directions really would be appricated!

Follow the steps below:

download MCERemoteMapper, then run it. More info is in here "option A"

1- Scroll down to VolumeUp and make sure none of the boxes are ticked against it and from the dropdown menu select F10

2- Scroll down to VolumeDown and make sure none of the boxes are ticked against it and from the dropdown menu select F9

3- Click Apply to apply the new settings then exit.

4- Now restart your computer to activate the new settings.
END.

You have not said what Windows operating system are you using! The steps above should work with any windows OS, except the auto installer which was specifically designed for all windows versions that was released after Windows XP. If you use it, it can give you a lot more useful options.

Check the remote picture in this page to find out what my setup offers, to install it check this page.

Cheers,
EG.
