The patch/dll only must be used with lastest HEAD git revisions.

I aume you mean:
XBMCSetup-20110626-39f5b8b-dx.exe (freeze/locking solution) or
XBMCSetup-20110626-3e4f0d3-dx.exe (muscle installer) or
XBMCSetup-20110626-8689002-master.exe

The first two I think have this patch with some other patches.

Other then that I'll need some help to understand what should be installed in order to apply the Ati patch or does one of the above mentioned versions really include that patch?

I've used the first installer - XBMCSetup-20110626-39f5b8b-dx, no artifacts with DXVA2 enabled, seems to work fine, but now I don't have subtitles anymore, I'll reinstall and configure, if it doesn't help I'll try the other two or will install 10.1

You are right. The first two installers have the patch already inside.

Regarding subtitles I have no issues in these versions. There is no changes in audio/subtitles code. May be you have disabled this feature in GUI setup?
