Not sure if I am the only one..but do other peoples Movie categories seem a little off?...... you know, Family, Drama, Comedy, etc...

for example... The movie Husk which is a horror movie shows up in comedy.... things of that nature

is there a way to edit that?

The categories (genres) are determined by where you scrape the info from not from XBMC itself. You could export the movie info as a nfo file and edit that or there are tools that allow you to edit the database directly, but nothing from within xbmc itself once the info is scraped.

For the movie you mentioned, themoviedb has it listed under multiple genres:
