this sounds like a pretty obvious post... it is essentially saying that if you are doing stuff in windows then it is better to use windows.

if you have a network with multiple pc's i would just use all fedora/ xbmc-live machines since windows doesnt play nicely with nfs/ sshfs (eventhough linux can mount smb shares, windows machines seem to only want to talk to other pc's using microsoft-smb).

if i was building a nas i wouldnt use ntfs. eventhough fedora can read and write to windows-ntfs it is just logical to use native ext-3 file system.
