Capplication:: create() failed - Check log file and that it is writeable
#16
So I am getting the same capplication error when I start up. To be specific I have two problems, when I exit XBMC it freezes and I must end task to get it to stop (when I can get it to open from the desktop). I used the tutorial http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=45337 and have everything working from the desktop but when I try the additional "advanced" last bit so it boots directly into XBMC it gives me the capplication error. Oh and I skipped step 3 because it was not working but it did work with my original remote without step 3. I checked the log file and it seems my graphics driver is working correctly.

I think I got the debug working http://pastebin.com/T2Pibnq1

Thank you ...also I'm not great with software I generally stick to hardware problems Smile

I've been reading this thread to try to id the cause because I have exactly same issue.

Heres my pastebin to my log file (debugging level 2)....

http://pastebin.com/dUuHj8UK

I originally had problems with installing xbmc because of missing dxdx9_43.dll so copied relevant ddl from directx 9.0c redist (June2010 cab) to Windows\System 32 and xbmc finally installed.

Still dxdiag shows directx 9.0b not 9.0c having re-installed it from dxsetup twice. Is this cause does anyone think?

thanks

found a more appropriate thread, re init rendering system error, so I've posted there. But still have this error message.

best regards.
