bahman2000 Wrote:Music is in ALAC format on an FTP share. FTP server on Ethernet to router, ATV2 is Wifi.
Playback is stuttery, choppy, pitched down.

Pastebin
Upload a sample file to mediafire, dropbox,, etc please.

I'm not sure if this is a PAPlayer issue or an AudioEngine issue...
Does it play fine on the latest official build?

thx for the feedback!

XBMC 20110612-fbc8568 ATV2: 4.1.1 Build: 1553
No Receiver
HDMI to Bush TV:
Audio Output: HDMI (or Analog works fine also)
AC3/DTS off

Playing AC3/5.1 encoded files - finally they downmix correctly to 2.0!! Woohoo, now I can actually use my ATV2!

Also had to remove guisettings.xml to fix the gui audio problem.

Hey Keith,

are these builds from

https://github.com/huceke/xbmc.git AE-restart

or from

https://github.com/gnif/xbmc.git AE ?

I'm building my own ones, so I just want to know which one you use.

Until now I didn't have a single crash with these build and always sound (even in the menus). My configuration is in the old dropbox folder we synced. Do you need a new one here in this thread?

Thanks a lot,
EmKay

Yea, we've moved testing over here, so if you could do another report (like the ones below) that'd be great.

Pretty sure we're using the 1st github link, AE-restart.

Setup 1: Apple TV 2, ATV Software 4.2.1 (iOS 4.3.1) connected to reciever, Philips HTS 3270 5.1 home cinema system, connected via optical, AC3 and DTS enabled

Setup 2: Apple TV 2, ATV Software 4.2.1 (iOS 4.3.1) connected to TV via HDMI, not capable of AC3 nor DTS (so those checkboxes are disabled), downmix to 2.0 channels

Both machines: Menu click working, played 5.1 and 2.0 AC3, ACC and MP3 streams without problems. Sync is perfect.

No crashes until now.

Will upload log later...

Ah sorry, my bad. Not used to this - even had to work out how to do that! Full report below:

PasteBin of xbmc.log: http://pastebin.com/tsuVa3mh

Please edit your post and include xbmc.log, we need this for EVERY report, even if it all worked.

AppleTV: IOS 4.2.2 (2203); build: XBMC PRE-11.0 Git(20110620-862ff92) Compile: Jun 2011)
Reciver: Sony DE-597; connection to ATV2 via optical audio
XBMC settings: Optical/coax. 5.1 speakers. Both AC3 and DTS selected.

Played 1 TV episode (5.1), 1 DTS movie. Sounded fine.

XBMC.Log - http://pastebin.com/81vf0AsA

EDIT:
While these videos played fine, when I stopped playing them (I only played a few min, otherwise the log got much to big to send), my sound disappeared form my video add-on (TWIT Live). Video was fine, but I had no sound.
Restarted XBMC, still no sound ... whether streaming live, or on one of the recorded TWIT shows. I listen to TWIT a *lot*, so this is a deal breaker for me ... sound is fine for playing my own videos, but not for my video add-in (I only have the one add-in).

I downgraded to the latest official - 10-8, released Jun 19 - and the sound is back for my video add-in.

This is the exact feedback we want, thanks Mike! BTW I edited your post and removed the < on your url, with them there it didn't link properly.
