tuckbodi Wrote:Sidenotes: I have always had trouble with this receiver playing AC3 from the AppleTV variants (I have both an ATV1 & ATV2) on XBMC, as well as from my Mac mini. I submitted a trac ticket ages ago and for a small moment in time I did have some AC3 working (I think MKV files). BTW, AC3 does play fine with Sam's CrystalUbuntu linux stick on my ATV1. Thx for the feedback. As much as I don't like to tell people to upgrade, you may have better luck with your Yahama receiver if you upgrade to 4.3.x and then select '16bit' in the Audio settings screen in Frontrow, rumor has it. ![]() Seems like Apple fixed some Audio issues they had. XBMC: 20110620-862ff92 IOS: 4.2.1 ATV2: 4.1.1
Pioneer VSX-1014TX connected via SPDIF to Panasonic TC-50PX14 (Plasma TV). TV is then connected by HDMI to ATV2 Using HDMI - SPDIF passthrough on TV since my amp does not have HDMI HDMI audio, 5.1, AC3/DTS selected I installed the AE .deb, loaded XBMC and immediately noticed no GUI sounds (which AE has) I then went in and deleted guisettings.xml. Once XBMC was restarted I had GUI sounds and setup all of my audio settings again. Tested were several forms of video/audio combinations. Xvid/MP3, H264/DTS, H264/DD, H264/AAC, H264/AAC 5.1. Everything worked great except for the AAC 5.1 the center channel appeared to be missing. (This was the last video I tried and at the end of xbmc.log) Other issue I noticed is that all of my videos now take about 3-4 times longer to load then they used to in previous builds. The waiting screen only showed up for 5 seconds or so and now it's almost 20-30 seconds before a movie will start. Not sure if AE has anything to do with this. Pastebin would not allow me to upload entire log so I updated from the point I started testing. xbmc.log: http://pastebin.com/k1dAwSz8 |

XBMC 20110620-862ff92 ATV2: 4.2.2 (2203)
No receiver HDMI 2.0 to Samsung TV, AC3/DTS Off Music + Movies via FTP; ATV2 is on WiFi; FTP server wired on LAN As already reported, ALAC files stutter, downpitch I too am seeing longer load times as #35 and #38. Wife reported that XBMC been crashing during past few days (as I started this AE testing) randomly while child is watching her cartoons: MKVs 720p, some AC3 some DTS some 2.0 FLAC file started playing well pastebin, but then XBMC crashes 56 seconds into this song. Are there other logs that I could look at/pastebin post crash to pinpoint the reason?
