Hello,

This is my first HTPC im building, just recently came accross XBMC and fell in love with it, and iv been browsing the forums for the past few days now and keep finding myself confused with all the diffrent builds.

What im looking for is something i can buy within the UK

All i really want todo with my HTPC is 100% Media, no streaming.

I wont be playing any Blue-Ray movies.

I was looking at this build

But am having some problems finding parts within the UK and wondering if i can shave some of the price by not playing Blue-Ray movies or streaming

If you don't need HD the most economical option is either an old Xbox or a hacked Apple TV.

Thank you for your reply, i was looking into the old xbox but they look really old and outdated, i was wanting something with the option to upgrade in time if i feel i do wish to play blue ray or stream.

HD Movies = Enough Hardware For Bluray = The build you linked above

There is no real layer (or cost savings) between boxes that can just play HD content and boxes that play blu-ray rips. For both Eskro's builds are the minimum needed.
