Hello everyone,

I can't add movies to my xbmc library anymore.

Whenever I put something in the Movies folder, I get:

"Could not download information. Unable to connect to remote server. Would you like to continue scanning?"

If I delete everything from the movies folder, everything goes back to normal. Does not affect TV shows.

Any ideas? I'm on Mac/Snow Leopard by the way/\.
Thanks!

Same here. Resuming sometimes works for a little while, sometimes not.

check your shares guys...this has been covered in the forums at length... anyhow check to make sure that the everyone group has access to your shares, and I have found that using the simple file sharing is the easiest way other than setting up the shares via the ip address the media is on. Hope this gets you going in the right direction

1) Debug Log.

It should mean that it's timing out for no good reason.

It seems to be the scrapers that it's having trouble with. It finds a movie (I also have the problem with TV shows) but then fails when trying to fetch the metadata.

Sometimes it'll grab a dozen movies or so and then fail. Trying again sometimes restarts the import, sometimes not.

Example:

19:10:32 T:6672 M:4294967295 ERROR: CFileCurl::CReadState::Open, didn't get any data from stream.

Yup im on nightly builds and can confirm that the
tmdb scraper has issues. Switch to imdb scraper which
seems to be working.

It's prolly gonna be fixed soon.

although this isn't probably the case for everyone, I found this was the case for me on a LOT of the issues I was having.

Primarily, the file naming was terribly off. I had to spend a few hours fixing this for my TV shows and some movies, using Ember and TV Rename (WARNING - Do not let TV Rename create folder.jpg files if you want to se Wide Icons, that was a suckfest).

Once I corrected the screwy data, I had very few, if no, errors like this. So while it might have some problems with connections, try fixing your info first and then try again. Can't hurt to clean it up anyway Smile
