its so great that im also thinking to make a place for it in Poofy & I's unRAID Guide!!

Now if I were to opt for this 6 drive case that seems to be good and I think asthetically and size wise is a great option would I be able to keep the rest of the stuff intact? Namely the Mobo? Or would I have to pick a new Mobo to fit in this case? I would love to see a guide with this case as the platform!! Would anything else change if I choose this case? (Power supply, Mobo, anything)

UnRaid is built from the ground up as a DIY media server. The whole idea with unRaid is to add new drives from different manufacturers, different batches as you go which is a little different from most NAS set ups. It maintains parity protection even as you mix and match to build your drive one HD at a time.

The very modest licensing for unRaid as you expand past 3 drives is a pittance compared to the advantage of adding storage a little as you go (especially with HD prices so temporarily overinflated due to flooding in Thailand).

Acer Revo 3610 w/ Ubuntu 10.10, Giada Cube Win 7, 2 ATV 1's one w Crystal HD card, UnRaid server w/ SAB/SickBeard/Couch Potato/Transmission, MacBook Pro, Hackintosh Dell Mini 10v

thanks! i'm going to try unRaid.

another question, is 1gb of ram enough for unRaid? someone told me it's good to have a lot of ram for a server. i'm thinking of doing 8gb of ram for this setup. is that overkill?
