I was hooked on Alaska Revisited for a long time but recently switched to Transparency. I like the way it lets the fanart shine through and the OSD gets out of the way.

I don't think any skin could be named as the best skin.

I guess it is all a mix of personal preferences along with the way certain personal favorite features is implemented, such as cdart, tvtunes, etc.

My personal favorite skins so far are reFocus, Simplicity and Neon Smile

There will never be a "best" skin as we all put different demands and wishes into our skin-wishlist.

Coming straight from MediaPortal I'm kinda in between atm. I was really hoping there would be skins like Maya and Avalon here...

so I've ended up on reFocus atm. I kinda hate the OSD in the video player there though, so, yeah.

I have to trow something in tho. I have NOT contributed anything to XBMC myself (yet?) so I know I should be really happy just getting it for free. And the skins do look great! They're just not dialed in 100% after my prefs, but hell, just like I'm the definition of perfection in this world Tongue

I'm hoping it's possible to mix 'n match as it is in MediaPortal (copy OSD files from skin A to skin B, etc.

Oh and XBMC totally outperforms MP when it comes to built in flexibility, and the fact that you don't need a seperate settings-app is great.

For me it's Neon, I tried them all and nothing lasted more than a few weeks on my TV, Neon has now been my skin for almost a year, 'nuff said.

It does everything well, has many innovations, looks great and is fast, still can't find one thing it doesn't do well.

for my system struggling with fanart, ReFocus w/fanart disabled looks really nice, slick and professional.
