There will never be a "best" skin as we all put different demands and wishes into our skin-wishlist.

Coming straight from MediaPortal I'm kinda in between atm. I was really hoping there would be skins like Maya and Avalon here...

[Image: 80508d1304111630t-maya-v1-1-stable-29-04...recast.jpg] [Image: 80514d1304111630t-maya-v1-1-stable-29-04...stview.jpg] [Image: 83434d1307720615t-avalon-0-9-4-354-beta-...on-osd.jpg] [Image: 85606d1311323479t-avalon-0-9-4-354-beta-...ong_v6.jpg]

so I've ended up on reFocus atm. I kinda hate the OSD in the video player there though, so, yeah.

I have to trow something in tho. I have NOT contributed anything to XBMC myself (yet?) so I know I should be really happy just getting it for free. And the skins do look great! They're just not dialed in 100% after my prefs, but hell, just like I'm the definition of perfection in this world Tongue I'm hoping it's possible to mix 'n match as it is in MediaPortal (copy OSD files from skin A to skin B, etc.

Oh and XBMC totally outperforms MP when it comes to built in flexibility, and the fact that you don't need a seperate settings-app is great.

For me it's Neon, I tried them all and nothing lasted more than a few weeks on my TV, Neon has now been my skin for almost a year, 'nuff said.

It does everything well, has many innovations, looks great and is fast, still can't find one thing it doesn't do well.

I posted some screenies in the Neon skin thread awhile back to show its beauty Nod

Loft - Intel I5-3570K, Asus P8Z77-LX, Corsair 16GB DDR3, AMD HD 7700, AOC 27" LCD

If you like fanarts, T! is BY FAR the best skin Smile

for my system struggling with fanart, ReFocus w/fanart disabled looks really nice, slick and professional.

This skin is beautiful but if you have a large library, the UI and ease and speed of navigation is nowhere near Transparency or Confluence.

If you have a large library you usually split it up using smartplaylists

Always read the XBMC online-manual, FAQ and search the forums before posting.
Do NOT e-mail Team-XBMC members asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules.

if you have a large library you dont use library mode -.-', btw confluence and transparency sux bad btw sorry to break it down to ya bro ,protip:thats for what you use file mode for -.-', i have over 4000 movies and over 300 anime those are just the ones i havent yet been able to watch lately ,just to give you abit of insight ,i sort them per source and fav that source and add it as custom menu item i disable movies library, no custom playlist or whatever needed ....

not to mention my comics collection and games collection ...all nicely sorted that of course uses adv thats a different topic xD

-.-..funny ....hardly you seem to never have used files mode or you wouldnt be commenting the way you iz xD

for real...wmc ...once again youre joking right? wmc is utter crap ..xbmc all the way , library isnt good for movies thou exspecially if you have lots of asian movies that dont get picked up by the moviesdb scraper , half of youre collection wont show up in library -.-', hence files mode xD

exspecially if you have tons of movies ,and you want the watched movie completely removed once youre finished watching it , library mode will leave the movie folder with the jpegs , subs etc on youre drive ...go ahead bro , give it a whirl if you dont believe me , delete a movie from within library and delete a movie from within file mode , then check youre hdd for the folder , that should make you see the usefullness of files mode

not to mention in files mode you get to choose the according file you want to watch not like in library where the thumb is attached to some file , maybe even a sample movie file or whatnot, very problematic with blueray folders or video_ts , once again you do not seem to have ever used files mode -.-'

not to mention you can fav each source say you have a source animes and another the movies then set theyre according scrappers and category and then you fav both rename each accordingly as custom menu item and you have yourself a nicely sorted collection ...not possible with library mode.....

On top of the fact that your writing is painful to read, your logic is complete nonsense. Files Mode? What a joke! Every skin has pluses and minuses, I pointed out a minus of Aeon MQ3. Confluence and Transparency do some things very well. Clearly your 'large library' is a mess if you prefer Files Mode.

Also library mode + large movie collection = Shift and any letter jumps straight to it

I love Aeon MQ3 and it seems nothing else comes close but I do admit that it is a little slow between the time I select Movies and the next screen coming up with all my movies (say 3 seconds). I have about 400 movies which isn't even that much.

I looked at a few other skins but they all seem mickey mouse compared to MQ.

you guys dont seem to read my post please do reread so you understand why exactly i prefer files mode over library mode -.-', a mess, my logic dont make any sense? oh please give me a break ok ...oh boy!

"Also library mode + large movie collection = Shift and any letter jumps straight to it "

or simply use search mode wich actually brings you to the exact movie ,btw you use a keyboard for navigation? -.-'.....Laugh ,i use a xbox 360 wifi controller with custom xpadder profile Wink

p.s: yes not much to compete against mq3 atm ....sadly Sad

there is this one skin thou called xperience1080, but i hate the movies wall view of it ,its so small and cropped, and its customization is very restrained exspecially the views possible for programs etc, if somebody would combine aeon mq3´s customization with xperience1080 wed have ourselves a new top dog Nod

hell for fsd theres been insane skins comin out , xbmc skinners gotta up theyre game in the guis department theyre getting old fast for a couple of fresh ideas check out my requests in the skins support section Nod
