Progress bar/Screen cropped in 16:9 movies
#1
Im running XBMC 10.1 and I just ripped a few movies that are 16:9, but for some reason the movie and the progress bar are cut off.

When I pause a movie only the very top of the counter in the lower right hand corner shows up.

Any Ideas how I can fix this?

maybe you need to calibrate it. Some TVs use Overscan, and the description you gave is a good reason for Overscan.

Just calibrate from the OSD while a vid is playing and you should be fine.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overscan

TVs deliberately trim off the edges of the picture. This is because in the old days on analogue TV the edges were a bit ragged. When the TV is showing video from a computer you obviously don't want this trimming so you need to turn overscan off. Most modern TVs can disable overscan. Check the TV manual for details, or post the model number here and maybe someone can tell you what setting to change.

If your TV can't turn overscan off you can use the video calibration in XBMC, or some video cards can calibrate their display to show on a TV with overscan.
