How to send AlarmClock command to xbmc?

How to send AlarmClock command to xbmc? There is no such a JSON-RPC method. I need a script that will turn-off system after recording has been finished (using TVHeadend), I also want to be able to cancel shutting down, in case I'm using XBMC.
Any ideas?

You want to schedule an action?
I'm guessing xbmc is running on the same computer as tvheadend and you can't use the normal idle? I've tried opening up a discussion on UPower about making a way to have this case working by magic (have either tvheadend or xbmc mark system as non-idle instead of having an app handle it).

Well I didn't mean UPower has it solved, it was mostly me saying I have tried to get them to fix it if I understood your problem?

Did I get why and what you wanted to do?
