Win One Button DVD/BluRay Ripping using a Launcher from within XBMC
(2013-01-18, 15:33)locoguano Wrote: Working great, but I have one question....
When I launch AutoRipDVD from within XBMC, XBMC is switched from fullscreen to windowed mode. Is there a setting in either software that I can adjust to fix this issue?

In your XBMC settings change the view from True Fullscreen to Fullscreen Window. XBMC will still appear full screen, but it will no longer minimize when you run AutoRipDVD. Instead the pop ups will just be infront of XBMC.

Ok, time to wake up this slumbering thread ;-).

Earlier the question came up if it was possible to only get one specifik language for the audio and subtitles and I answered that it wasn't possible since makemkvcon just rips all languages.
That's true in one way and wrong in another, since makemkvcon doesn't have any parameters for languages, but it has that for profiles...
If profiles sounds a little to much there's is some stuff you can do in the GUI (Preferences - Advanced tab) that makemkvcon uses, those settings you can change from a script by changing them in the registry before you start makemkvcon.

Or you can just set/change the Preferred Langauage (Preferences - Language Tab) and use the default selection rule with some minor modifications.

If you want to try to change the settings in the registry they are in the string value (REG_SZ) "app_DefaultSelectionString" in the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MakeMKV".

There you also find the preferred language in the string value "app_PreferredLanguage"

Here is a thread about setting the default selection rule:

Very nice. I didn't realize that the command line would use the gui settings when ripping

Looking at the pastebin I think your Advancedlauncher isn't working correctly and is throwing an error on it, not the scripts. AutoRipDVD doesn't use python at all, so that error I believe is something wrong with advanced launcher in your setup.

Try from a windows command prompt (windows key + r, then cmd enter) running the LaunchAutoRipDVD.exe and see if any errors show up in the terminal window.

But errors like this one:

Code:
13:28:28 T:1096   ERROR: C:\Users\extremeaudio\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.program.advanced.launcher\resources\lib\launcher_plugin.py:37: DeprecationWarning: the md5 module is deprecated; use hashlib instead
                                              import md5
13:28:28 T:1096  NOTICE: ERROR: Main::get_xml_source (1326) - [Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'C:\\Users\\extremeaudio\\AppData\\Roaming\\XBMC\\userdata\\addon_data\\plugin.program.advanced.launcher\\launchers.xml'
13:28:28 T:1096  NOTICE: Launcher: found 0 launchers

And others is looking like it's your AdvancedLauncher install. I would uninstall and re-install it from the official repo and try again if AutoRipDVD seems ok in the terminal window.

When i try and run it through command
Application Error
"Exception EOleSysError in module LaunchAutoRipDVD.exe at 00068899. Error accessing the OLE registry."

If I go to the program folder and run as Admin it works fine

now it works fine from command ahd runing as none admin .... still addon.py error in xbmc

first deleting the launch, unistalling, restart xbmc, then reinstalling still addon.py error

Try launching XBMC as Admin.

Yeah, that's pretty neat.

I did a total rewrite of my scripts to use this and now I don't have to run a mkvmerge after MakeMKV, just use mkvpropedit to adjust some things like name on the tracks, movie title and so on.

One problem is chinese/hong kong movies with mandarin and cantonese audio language... they I still have to mkvmerge manually afterwards.

Right click on the app and under one of the tabs there is an checkbox option that allows you to run as an Administrator.

Hi Im getting an error when running option "1. Advanced Mode" for autoripdvd.

makemkv starts and error's out.. when changing default name of volumeid to something else..

I can run the option "2. Standard Mode" and make mkv will rip the disk and then handbrake will take over fine...

I think it must be somewhere in the script that the name being fed to makemkvcon64 after being changed isnt being passed on correctly.. I have also noted that the standard mode log file for MakeMKV doesnt have a /title00.mkv in the path like the one getting generated when I use the advanced mode option.

if someone could look at the error below and assist that would be great! (error is from MakeMKV log file, note i have used "wdfsdc" as a random volumeid to test).

I don't know if it's just me, but I have hit a road block with this script.
- the script keeps outputting the movie as a .delete file, and I have that option set as "No" in the bat file. I even have the "Handbrake=No", but it looks like it keeps going past that line in the script
- XBMC doesn't give you an indiciation that the Autolaunch is working properly.
- the only way I can get th escript to run is by opening the batch file and watching the command prompt shuffle through the script.

is anybody else having problems?

Once I can get the auto rip / compress function to work in XBMC, I'll be extremely happy.

thanks

Hi Joerobert06, I think I've found the fix for the script outputting the incorrect name. It appears to be a missed "2" in the advanced.bat script next to volid=

Change from this...

:ChangeName2

Echo -------------Change Name-----------------
Echo -----------------------------------------
Echo %volid%
cd /d %ScriptPath%
Set /P volid=Please Type Correct Movie or Show Name:
Echo %volid2% >>value.txt
Echo %volid2%
pause
Goto :EOF

To This....

cd /d %ScriptPath%

Let me know how you go....

Just an update , fixed my issue earlier with MakeMKV not working in advanced mode. As above the volid2 variable needed changing but also the output to value.txt was getting an extra space after the changed filename passed to it...

it was %volid2% >>value.txt
it now is %volid2%>>value.txt

here is the now working section of advanced.bat

Echo -----------------------------------------
Echo -------------Change Name-----------------

cd /d %ScriptPath%

That will cause a problem if you have a number as last character, change to this instead:

>>value.txt Echo %volid2%
