How do you import itunes playlists?
#1
Hi all,
I'm trying to get my playlists from itunes into xbmc so I can just plug and play, but I can't seem to find a way. I tried a search for "import itunes playlist" but nothing relevant came up.
Anyone know a way to do this?

Thanks,

I have exactly the same problem: when I try to import the "iTunes Music Library.xml" file, a progress bar quickly appears and then disappears... Any idea?

I'd say first export them to m3u (not sure if the iTunes plugin has been ported to addons yet).

how did you even get to import playlist? I can't seem to figure out where to go in xbmc.
I wish this was more simple.

You'd go to Music>Music Playlists>New Playlist... then choose 'Open playlist' find your .m3u on the filesystem, then save it.

Hi,

I try to do so, but it doesn't work:
I export my Itune playlist using the "Eric Daugherty tool"
I put them in the userdata/playlist/music folder
Go through Xbmc ( Dharma, AEON NOX) open the playlist & re save it.
In all case I got the below errors:
19:42:51 T:5180 M:4294967295 ERROR: XFILE::CFileCache::Open - failed to open source <special://profile/playlists/music///DS211ZBF/music/Music/Junior Caldera And Nite Runner/Nrj Hits 2012/12 It's On Tonight (feat. Kardinal O.mp3>

Will this method work for iTunes' Smart Playlists? I can't find them when I browse for playlists... Huh

if your itunes and xbmc are on different machines then they will be pointing to different paths looking for the files
