Seems v2.4 of RTMPDump has been released today - any chance we can get the nightly updated to test the new build? It adds support for flash handhake v9.

They haven't made a formal release yet but GIT does have the support for handshake 9.

I don't know if this is true or not, but we won't see XBMC with a new librtmp packaged with XBMC (nightly or not) until there is a stable release for librtmp. However, add-on developer BlueCop is willing to compile librtmp that can be dropped into XBMC's files, so you might want to ask him: http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=834...tcount=141

Yea with him calling it v2.4 I assumed it was a stable release - I guess we still have to wait.....

I have no plans at the moment to make any more release snapshots. At this point most people who are actively using it have just been pulling source from git directly and compiling their own, so it seemed redundant to me.

Would it hurt you to do it anyways?

For us to use it in a distro, we need a release tarball. See it works this way, we pull your tarball, stick it on our mirrors where it then lives there forever. Our distro buildbots pull this tarball from out mirrors and build. Same for the 45+ other depends we use.

When you do a release tarball, that indicates that that version is "stable" to use for distro. Pulling some version from git is a crap shoot as we have no clue if it's stable or not.

you guys are funny

you might want to get used to the process of pulling from Git, even the well known FFmpeg and x264 projects are doing this.

FFmpeg creates tarballs releases, so does x264. What's your point ?

You really need to understand what it means to create a distro bases on upstream tarballs. You can't expect us to tell users, go pull some git version for 40+ depends that we use in xbmc, just so they can build. That's just silly.
