That's a referral offer which isn't available from the main site

I personally would go with Supernews over astraweb, Supernews and Giganews are one and the same its how they sell there packages at a lower price the same applies to PowerUsenet and Usenet.net

Nice attitude. The link makes it pretty clear it's a special offer and available for a limited time only... and unless you've been referred the link you wouldn't know about it. I was looking at the plans they had listed from their main page... that's what the hell I was talking about.

ROFL. That "Special Offer" has been available since I signed up for usenet ... 3 years ago, give or take. It's the same one that's always up. It's like Kohl's stuff being "On Sale."

I've since moved to IPv6 free usenet. (Short retention but GREAT for TV shows and the like) with a 1TB/$50 block account. (newsgroupdirect will occasionally have a "Terabyte Tuesday"). Do the math on how much you actually download. I will never break 1TB in 5 months so I win.
Code:

IF you have a mysql problem, find one of the 4 dozen threads already open.

You missed the point that special offer isn't available from anywhere on the Astraweb site its only available by referral so unless you come across that URL then you have no way of knowing it exists

Interesting... hadn't heard of folks using IPv6 to access free usenet. Did some quick reading and it seems people are either tunneling IPv6 through places like gogoNet or getting it through their ISP directly. How are you going about it?

Mhm? I don't get it - is it free or do you pay $50? Or - do you have both, a free server and a 1TB/$50 Block Account at another provider? If you have a free one - who's your provider?
Need help? Check out my XBMC Frodo Guide. It contains full featured guides to Sickbeard and CouchPotato as well.

I have both. I forget which provider I'm actually using. It's one of the *.nl ones.

I use http://www.sixxs.net/. I have it setup on my router. I also have requested a subnet so my OpenWRT router serves IPv6 to all the computers in the house.

However since all of the 'free' servers have like a 20 day retention it makes them not so good for back log TV and Movies. So I bought a 1TB block account for $50. Between the two I should be set for at least a year or two.

And if you google for "astraweb discount" tada, there it is. Heck anytime I see a spot for a coupon code I always search google for "<website> coupon".

"Eweka" and "XS news" use to give 107 days retention
