I've stripped the hard drive as I'm planning to go solely with openelec. Please let me know if the value is good for this build.

Can any of the options in the above groups run XBMC / OpenELEC at 2560x1600 native resolution via DVI-D (for a 30" LCD) that I have ?

If so, I'd prefer to try one of the Slim Zotac / Apple TV like box that does that.

If it is for OpenElec, you might want to consider Nvidia GPU in your build. It might be very tough to configure AMD iGPU with OpenElec.

I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

What's the consensus on GT 520 as opposed to GT 430??

In this guide GT 430 is recommended for 3D, but I believe GT 520 also has HDMI 1.4a and is cheaper and there are fanless low profile options. I guess it is supposed to be less powerful (64bit vs 128bit), but for an htpc, are there any advantages in going with a GT 430?

Thanks

if your going to record live HDTV,
GT430 is better in de-interlacing 1080i content...

Oh no, I won't have anything to do with live tv :-P

I cut the cable two years ago, and I have espn3 for international soccer (xbmc addon works really well) :-)

Hi,

I'm in Group 3 but additionally I want:

- A responsive XBMC-UI on Eden with many skins
- Be able to browse the web and play flash and/or HTML5 movies (like southpark.com)
- Emulate N64 and SNES

Would that match group 5 then?
