Hi Eskro
Great topic. Very usefull!
I'm fairly new to XBMC and I think I'm in group 6/7
Group 6 because I'm thinking of buying the Zotac ZBOX Blu-ray AD05
And group 7 because I would like to view full hd 3d movies.
Is it not possible to watch 3d movies with the Zotac ZBOX Blu-ray AD05 then? If it's possible you should move the Zotac ZBOX Blu-ray AD05 to group 7 :-)

Hi, I've just started doing research on my XBMC needs, and while I'm quite tech savvy, I'm quite confused.
What I want:
- HD 1080P
- HD Bitstream
Options:
-nettop
-android set top box
My confusion regarding capabilities regarding my needs is due to the several configurations available, eg, Linux, windows, android..etc
and with new machines like the G-box on Android and/or nettop machine conbined with latest XBMC version have me very confused.
Can someone please help me to find the absolute cheapest easiest solution?
Note that I want 2 machines, one for living room home theater where my receiver will do the bulk of audio decoding, and other machine for bedroom where just connected to TV via HDMI.
I think I'm group 6 because of the bitstream, but in reading, the latest version of XBMC can bitstream audio.....also why is it that the zotox boxes use AMD for bitstream and intel for the lower group?
Thanks everyone....looking forward to respones

If you wanted to stick as close to this as possible but be more up-to-date (Ivy Bridge)
Pentium G2120
H77 motherboard
No video card (integrated GPU is good enough for 95% of features and can always be added later)
Apex MI-008, MI100 or Rosewill RS-MI-01
Silenx IXP-76-18, EFX-12-12 or EFX-12-15
Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR3-1600
Crucial m4 or Samsumg 830 64GB SSD (or 128GB when on sale for $20 more)

What is the best HTPC option for a truly #7 group having the size of a ZBOX?
I read about the ZBOX ID82, but it looks like the HD 3000 is a little short for some video formats.
I also want to use it for console emulators like Dolphin.
So it must be a SFF like ZBOX, enough power for FULL SBS 3D movies and console emulators.
