windows performance - moving back from live
#1
I'm thinking of moving back from xbmc live to xbmc on windows as I want to be able to run some silverlight apps - which dont work on linux. I am very happy with the performance of xbmc on live, but what can I expect on windows. Are there still issues with HD movies and tearing?

is xbmc on windows stable?

my hw is an acer revo 3600

If you're using Windows Vista or 7 then the 3600 will play even 1080p without any tearing or dropped frames. The reason you need a recent version of Windows is that Windows XP does not support the DXVA2 API that XBMC uses for hardware acceleration of video decoding.
