Hi,

I've been using XBMC for years now and just today I installed XBMC to a new Apple TV 2, running 4.3.1
XBMC is Eden.

I have an tvheadend installation which I access via htsp://
Everything works as expected and SD channels are played back normally.
But HD channels (1080i or 720p, H264) seem to be non-accelerated.

Is this some sort of HW limitation I have to live with?

I think I remember this is a hardware issue - I seem to remember a couple issues with these types of streams. One was a 60 fps issue, and there was another one that was a problem with interlacing (I'm less sure of this one).

Not sure if it applies to tvheadend, but in order to play HD on the ATV2, it needs to be H.264 and 30fps.
