FYI if SMB lacks on performance... and you want to run a NFS Server you just need to install
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en
With them you can easyly run a NFS Server
there is a good german page for config... ..

iaccording ms... see link
http://support.microsoft.com/default.asp...-us;932244
especially the NFS server is not included in the new SUA "Subsystem for UNIX-based Applications"
so the alternative would be cygwin that also has some issues .. as reported in other forums
http://www.csparks.com/CygwinNFS/
there is a 2GB limit and under xp it is much slower then SFU "Services for UNIX"
alternative not tested yet..

Hi
What are the benefits of choosing NFS instead of SMB.
My setup is a Atv2 with last nightly and Qnap NAS as file server.
But when i try to add files from NFS, xbmc find the directory but it dont let me choose any file or folder.
SMB is running ok, the only issue is a little lag when playing the firts seconds of the track. Very anoying actually.
