I just installed the "xbmc-11.0-dsplayer.exe", but if I want to play a movie with the dsplayer, nothin happens.

Can anyone explain to me the following?
When i am using Dharma or Eden 11.0 ,watching my movies i can see automatically the external subtiltes (Greek srt),in all my movies.

But when i am using DsPlayer ( 0wing ), or DsPlayer with LAV filters ( alexrose1uk ), i must use every time the mouse through audio settings

Same exact problem.
Neither ffdvideodec nor ffdaudiodec work anymore !
Tried with latest x86 ffdshow and latest ffdshow-tryout.

I've got the previous version of DS Player XBMC running on another system and it still plays fine.
Since I've updated to this version I'm not able to play any files. This is the log - I did notice that I needed to go back and add the filtersconfig and mediasconfig xmls to the system/players/dsplayer directory which I did do. Still unable to play anything. The errors seem to read as if I do not have those files but I assure you they are there... and not in the appdata/roaming/etc, but in the appropriate directory from c: for XBMC.

For anyone having issues with the latest build you may just want to try a fresh install of everything, its the only thing that ended up working for me... Everything works perfectly now for me.

Uninstall your previous version of XBMC, (I would suggest you KEEP your profile data though, you'll have an option to delete it near the end of the installation, leave that box unchecked to keep it).
Uninstall LAV Filters, uninstall ffdshow (this will require a pc restart)

Downlaod the latest LAV Filters, ffdshow, and DSPlayer XBMC.
Very important that you install x86 versions a the main post states.

Then simply follow the instructions on page 88 of this thread by alexrose1uk - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?pid...3pid975895

Scroll down, the instructions are post 875.

Well, in my case, after installing Eden+DsPlayer, and reinstall LAV, the only thing that's not working on my end is the Lav Source. I have to use Haali. The LAV splitter, video code and audio code work just good.

FIXED !
Installed ffdshow on the htpc account, and not using remote Desktop.

Just wondering, will using this version ruin such functionalities as using a MySQL DB and being able to resume a movie/TV-show?
Does it work the same way as other external players where it minimizes XBMC, opens DSPlayer in a new windows and you have a different OSD and remote control buttons and things like the subtitle addon button won't be in the OSD?

I'd love to try it out to see if I can remove my 24p and audio sync issues.

DSPlayer does not opens in another window, it's fully integrated into XBMC as DVDplayer is. Same OSD. U can just chose what things u want DVDplayer to play, and what things u want DSplayer to play. It appears in the menu as the external players do , to select it, or u can set it automatically to play certain types of files in xml notepad file.

I'm having trouble getting dsplayer to play my videos located on a ftp share. I followed the guide to set it up with LAVFilters and it can play local files or files on a smb share without problems but fails to play those on a ftp share.
I even tried it with ffdshow instead of LAVFilters but nothing changes. I can also play the same files without problems with the dvdplayer.

Any advice appreciated.

Hello,

I am trying out the DSPlayer build, but I can't seem to get the audio to work correctly. It refuses to output through the optical connection I have set.
It is running in portable mode and everything else seems to be functioning as it should (e.g. what pertains to DSPlayer, filters etc).

If I am reading the log correctly it does actually select the optical output, but still, the output goes to my default device (analog speakers connected to computer).

I don't have this issue with the normal build and the menu sounds do go through the optical output. It doens't seem to matter if I select DirectSound output or not for the optical (in DSPlayer settings), same problem.

Please advice, thank you.

EDIT: I used alexrose1uk's excellent guide to set it up.

EDIT 2: If I set the default output device in Windows to optical it does work. I guess it's not that big of a problem then, I will use another computer with HDMI out for my permanent XBMC setup, so HDMI output will be set as default anyway.

That's how it is. With DSPlayer you can't have separate audio settings that differ from the Windows settings.
