[LINUX] IR receiver for keyboard and remote?
#1
I have a IR based keyboard/mouse (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Cordless-...10&sr=1-10) connected to my linux based Foxconn nettop xmbc system. I was wondering if i could use that same IR receiver with my comcast remote so that i could control the xbmc system for that same remote without having to buy another ir receiver. Thoughts?

Why don't you try?

Depending on your distro, versions, config, etc, try:

Code:
irw

or
Code:
ir-keytable -c -p RC5,RC6,NEC,JVD,SONY -t

Ah, nevermind, I looked closer and the keyboard/mouse is actually RF. Though im quite surprised how much line of sight is needed at 5 feet away with it being RF.

Uh, none at all.. Like WiFi, Bluetooth, AM and FM signals.

Are you sure it's RF?
