Can't install stable
#1
I just jailbroke my ATV2 and intalled xbmc. I also installed it in my XP laptop.

I noticed that on my laptop there are a lot more video addons that in the ATV2. I also noticed that the system info screen on the ATV2 says "XBMC PRE-11.0 GIT:20110623-62171B3". (The laptop reports 10.1)

I then desinstalled it trying to install a 10.4 version which I believe is the stable one and maybe that's why the addon list is reduced.

I followed these steps, but again I got the same pre-11 version:

$ apt-get install wget

$ wget -O- http://apt.awkwardtv.org/awkwardtv.pub | apt-key add -

$ echo "deb http://apt.awkwardtv.org/ stable main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/awkwardtv.list

$ echo "deb http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/atv2 ./" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xbmc.list

$ apt-get update

$ apt-get install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

Is there anyway to get the full addon listing from the xbmc repository?

Thanks.

PS. The one addon I'm most interested in is PBS. Is there any way to add the 10.1 repository or at least PBS to the pre-11 version?

Thanks, Sorry, I meant 10.1

Is then there any way to add the 10.1 repository to pre-11 and get PBS?

Sure, update the code so it works in pre-11.

Sorry, but I'm new to xbmc. What do you mean by "update the code"?

There is no "stable" for ATV2/iOS. They are all based on pre-Eden (v11) code, which is newer than 10.1.

The reason some add-ons don't show up is because they haven't been tested or updated to work with the newer in-development build. In other words, the ones who have to update the code is the people who make the add-ons.

However, some add-ons work and just haven't been marked yet, or at least mostly work. You can try this to manually install PBS and others using this method. Proceed with caution:
