APPLE TV 2 :

today I see it : http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title...SMB/SAMBA/CIFS)

so today = 2011, which way can i use for SMB :
I found someone said :

"Once "Everyone" has been added to the list, you have two choices. You can choose to keep "Everyone" as a Reader only, in which case XBMC would be able to read the files, but could not write anything into the folder, meaning it could not correct file names or export nfos and tbns into the folder, if you want that"

I use SMB,not FTP. is it the best choise? then Password for SMB can make slower to streeming?no password better?read only is not perfect? anybody know? for apple tv2

Im going to create new acount on WIN 7 for use SmB password, read and write, it ok?or no?

advice me pl

another option is just using your primary account's login info, for your windows 7 machine, no need to make another account.

I don't think having a password or not would impact the speed. SMB is normally the best choice for most people on average. The only reason I can think that would want read-only is if other people are in your house and accessing shows, and you don't want them to mess with stuff. I don't think read/write vs read-only will impact speed.

It does say that. The only reason you would use read-only is if you do not trust the other people in your house who have computers. If Grandma isn't going to go and delete your movies then you do not have to worry. I would go with "Read/Write" for everyone because no one else in my house/network is going to delete my stuff.
