HI, I've just set up a new system for XBMC. Windows 7 64bit - GT210 card.

MKV movies are playing fine in MPC-HC, says DXVA in corner etc but when I try playing them in XBMC I get no picture for a while then when it comes on its jerky as hell. DXVA is enabled in XBMC.

He is the log

Any ideas?

EDIT: 480p avi's, DVD's etc have the same problem so not DXVAHuh

The audio settings are wrong. The clue from the log is:

ERROR: DirectSoundCreate() Failed (0x88780078)

Exactly what's wrong is hard to say. Do you get the usual Windows sounds through whatever you're using to connect (HDMI?).

It might seem odd that a problem with the sound can cause the video to judder, but it does. You can get the same result just by disconnecting the speakers or amp connection. Windows 7 spots that no speakers are connected and helpfully disables the audio.

Ahh, that will be the problem. I'm not using the HDMI output yet, just VGA while I'm setting it up and my system does not have a soundcard, only HDMI.

Cheers mate !
