[LINUX] Use trackball to navigate
#1
Hi all,

I have a wireless keyboard with built-in trackball. I can use this trackball as a mouse to navigate the XBMC, but I'd like to use it a bit differently: I want the trackball to function as navigational arrows, ie. move the trackball down -> same as cursor down, move the trackball up -> same as cursor up, etc.

Is this possible?

yeah.. you would have to map the mouse to the arrow keys, but that will cause many issues, like multiple key presses... when your a little tipsy and don't slide it true, it will think "was that left? or up? or both?!?!" can see teh practical advantages to this TBH... get a cheap MCE remote.

Well, I have an MCE remote, but I think navigation and especially scrolling would be a lot faster with the trackball. Think of scrolling through a huge list, this would be a lost faster if you could spin the ball fast, instead of having to hold the down arrow for half a minute.
