XBMC iPad2 and Windows 7 (newbee question)
#1
Hi,

First of all sorry for asking questions that have been asked before...
But I can not find the answer to my questions.

Can someone please answer my questions before I buy the iPad2.

1. The iPad2 must be jailbreaked to use for XBMC, right?
2. I only want to watch the movies which or on my Windows 7 barebone streaming. The barebone runs XBMC I do not want the movie itself on my iPad. This is possible, right?
3. Can I find somewhere documentation how to setup XBMC on my PC and iPad2 so I can use the movie / music / photo library on the iPad?

Many, many thanks in advance!

This can all be referenced in the Wiki: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=XBMC_Online_Manual.
But briefly:
The easiest way to install XBMC for Windows 7 is to d/l the Windows installer, found here: http://xbmc.org/download/
The easiest way to install XBMC on your iPad would be via Cydia. Add source http://mirrors.xbmc.org/apt/ios then install XBMC-iOS

Thanks for the quick reply. Will the iPad find my library on windows 7 by itself or do I have to add an ip address or something of the windows 7 machine?

also, you'll want to do this if you want to share metadata between the PC and XBMC (organize your movies and TV shows once and have them be the same way on both, watched status, stop/resume so you can stop on the PC and resume where you left off on the iPad, etc):
