[RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon
Very nice! I won't get too excited as I think they have temporarily dropped the DRM in the recent past, but I have verified that a few videos that I have tried in the past that had DRM, no longer do. This would be great news if it stayed this way.

I was able to continue using some of the Amazon Prime TV Shows over the past month, while most of the purchased content seemed to have the DRM issue. I noticed the purchased shows seem to work as of last night.

I wonder if this isn't really an Amazon issue - does either XBMC, Flash, or the Amazon Plug-In utilitze some sort of cache, cookie, or token that may expire periodically, which is causing the DRM message to popup? Pure speculation, but I thought I would pose the question anyway...

EDIT: Still just spitballing here, but I came across the following flash page which describes how to reset the DRM vouchers
http://www.iheartair.com/2010/12/22/adob...-vouchers/

Resetting Local Vouchers in Flash Player applications (Flash Player Settings Manager):
When working with Flash Access 2 and Flash Player versions 10.1 and above, the way to reset locally cached DRM vouchers is to go to the Flash Player Global Settings Manager.

Warning: Before running through this step please realize that unlike AIR reset processes which works per-application, resetting the local vouchers for Flash Player applications will reset ALL the vouchers for all the Flash Applications on your system.

I noticed everything is working today. No changes or updates on my end...just no more DRM errors. Nice!

Every thing has been working for me too. Smile

I Sent a message to customer service at amazon asking to make an addon for XBMC after I got my first adobe drm error. This addon is awesome but an official addon would be nice because they probably would not do something that kills it's functionality.

Thanks for your hard work Bluecop and everyone else who has contributed.

Works great on my two pc's that are running it, but not working on my ATV2. Just curious if anyone has it working on an ATV2 on Eden final.
As always, thanks to Bluecop and anyone else that contributes.

This plugin used to work but now it doesn't.

I removed the Amazon plugin and re-added it and reentered my login credentials.

When I try to play a video it says Opening Stream, then Working with the spinning circle and sometimes (not always) One or more files failed to play.

I pasted my log output in pastebin.com because it is too long to post here:

Forgot to mention, I'm using XBMC on a jailbroken iPad.

all I can say is that it works for me on a regular HTPC with eden.

Comments:I have been happily watching Prime Video Content since last year. This year I have noticed more and more of your video content is DRM'd preventing me from watching the content that I have paid for.

I'm using XBMC and a lot of the shows are now unplayable due to the DRM'd restrictions that you have placed on the content. I feel that this is content that I've paid for via my Amazon subscription but now watching that content requires that I purchase yet another Amazon-approved player.

I purchased a TV from Amazon last year but unfortunately my Samsung TV does not have an Amazon player. The only way for me to take advantage of Amazon prime is through the XBMC player.

I don't want to purchase another product in order to play amazon prime content that I'm already subscribed for. My existing player was fine until amazon added the DRM restriction. Can you please remove the DRM restrictions?

Yay! I haven't found a DRM error yet!

I've been using the Amazon plug in regularly but recently when I've tried to watch anything, it never works. The circle spins, but nothing happens after that. As a demonstration, I've tried several episodes of "24". None of them worked. Here's the log file:

i am experiencing the same problem with amazon after it's been working perfectly for some time (except for the brief drm problem). but i was having problems with hulu as well until i switched the cdn to limelight. and, i'm noticing a pattern among the similar problems people are having with hulu, amazon, free cable and espn (bluecop's addons), they all seem to be on apple tv2s. i realize i'm making a huge assumption here without much evidence...

i'm also wondering if the problem with amazon is a cdn one, but there is not way to change that in the configuration (i realize i'm exposing my ignorance here too).

and, i'm sure everyone has notice bluecop's eery silence. bluecop, your fan's are legion and they need you!.

If that helps, I just loaded up some episodes of 24 and they play fine with xbmc for me.

It might be an issue with the apple TV build of XBMC. I noticed the error: "DeprecationWarning: os.getcwd() currently lies to you so please use addon.getAddonInfo('path')..." in the log posted but I don't see that error in my log. I don't think that error has anything to do with the problems, it might show something is different with the XBMC builds. I'm no expert so i may be wrong.

Just in case this might help someone else, I got this plugin working again on my ATV2 running Eden 11.0 Final by updating the librtmp as recommended by karmaj here:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=101938&page=76

I also deleted the commoncache.db as it seemed to be throwing out some errors as well, this was recommended by crawl in this thread:
