[Linux] Sync Playback to Display, Convert 25p PAL -> 24p NTSC
#1
Is it possible to set up the "sync playback to display" option such that it will always slow down 25p PAL frame rates to play at 24p? I know this can be done with <adjustrefreshrate> in advancedsettings.xml when true 24p output is desired, but I cannot figure out how to do so with 60Hz output, which is the only one my TV will accept at 1080p. FWIW, it is working successfully to convert 23.976p to 24p for smooth playback on my TV.

For me, converting 25p to 24p would be extremely useful for 2 reasons:
(a) I find the judder from showing 24p at 60Hz to be much less jarring than that from 25p at 60Hz, even with no MEMC-interpolation.
(b) My TV, a 120Hz LED-LCD, can be set to MEMC-interpolate to smooth video almost perfectly from 24p, but does quite poorly when the video frame rate is 25p. I assume it has been tuned for the 24p scenario but not the 25p scenario.

I would like to add this as a feature request if it is not currently possible.

My HTPC:
OS: Minimal Ubuntu 10.10
XBMC: Dharma 10.1
CPU: Sandy Bridge i3-2100
Video: GT210 VDPAU w/ Nvidia binary drivers
