Asrock ION330HT vs GT 430
#1
So I already got an Asrock ION33HT but I am wondering if I do a custom HTPC using a GT 430 card (or any other nvidia card that might be better), can I get better up-scaling of xvid dvdrips to an 1080p display ? Personally atm I dont really like the quality output, its usually very blurry and blocky (in darker parts) compared to a 720p rip and I once had a tvix player and when I swapped to the Asrock above, I feelt that the scaling was worse then the Tvix. I do use lanczos3 but I feel it is lagging a bit sometimes, esp when watching 720p tv show and those channel popups happen in the picture (like comming up next etc).

xvids or divx will always look blocky,,,

divx VDPAU decoding is currently disabled. If you want to try to compile your own version with it enabled you can.

Well, I guess what I was actually asking is if the output from GT 430 is better then an ION system Smile

It's not, unless you're viewing interlaced content.
