I am using the night xbmc build with pvr support built by Sam as part of Crystalbuntu. I am having issue when I use screensaver in XBMC. When I press any key in the remote XBMC is unresponsive. If I disable the screensaver I dont have this issue. I have enabled to turn off the display when idle.

I was wondering if anyone else has this issue and if there is fix for this available.

I am having a similar issue on Dharma, and it appears to be a problem with the TV. I found these posts by a forum user named "brownstein"

I also tried going into the Appearance -> Screensaver -> Settings options and changed the value there from 25 (very dim) to 65 (brighter) and that fixed it for me as well.

Give that a try and see if it fixes it for you!
