I say that's a pretty good deal if its $80 for both but with one caveat - the MB only has a VGA connection. That kills the deal for me personally because I want a HDMI port for connection to my TV or receiver. But if this is going to be connected to a monitor then I say go for it.
HTPC: Win 7 Home 64-bit | MB | CPU | GPU | RAM | Case | PSU | Tuner | HDDs: OS, Media | DVD Burner | Remote
Media server: unraid 4.7 | CPU | MB | RAM | Case | PSU | HDDs: Parity-2TB, Data-2x2TB

Yes, 80.00 for both, in store only.

I understand there is no HDMI, not a deal breaker for now. This will be a (working) build in progress, as future money is available, more components added.

I would like to future proof it by getting suggestions on the case/power supply with the intention of adding a video card at a later time.
Linux Mint 10 - Free.
Ram - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6820145246
Hard Drive - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6822136279

Case/PS - ?
Video Card - ? later date.
2TB storage - later date.
WiFi - later date.

I'm in unknown territory here. I've built 2 HTPC's for friends, but always used the recommend builds from Eskro.
It's a College Student with little money to spend at one time. Reliability is the most important part of this build. School first, XBMC second.

This case or similar price - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6811144160

Should bring the total to around 244.00

I think this should give me a working system, and plenty to work with for upgrades.

You aren't getting much bang for your buck using a laptop drive ($/gb) but other than that its a pretty nice setup. Add a cheap Nvidia video card with HDMI down the road for $20-$30 and you've got a pretty solid HTPC.
