[Live] Sync folders with desktop PC
#1
Is it possible to sync folders from a Windows desktop to a laptop running XBMC Live? I'd like to download the movies from the desktop, but also have them sync to the laptop because it'll be hooked up to the TV as an HTPC, but I'll also occasionally take it on trips and would like to have the movies accessible on that laptop when not on my home network. I'd like this syncing to occur over my home network and not something like Dropbox if possible.

Either share your windows desktop's drives via windows file sharing/samba and then copy the files over via xbmc's file manager or terminal.
You could also write a small script that does this automatically via rsync.

Another possibility is to do it the other way round: Push the files from your windows machine to your xbmc. Easiest would be Winscp as it provides a sync folder option and you won't need to configure anything on xbmc live. Obviously you could also set up samba on the xbmc machine.

There are even more options then those above.
