Weird MySQL Database issue
#1
Ok I recently changed out the hard drive for an SSD on two of my xbmc installations. One of them seems to be having an issue. I decided to switch from Win7 to the XBMCLive version on these two systems.

On my one system everything works fine with MySQL database, I just copied and pasted the advancedsettings, added my two shares to the library and no issues.

Keep in mind everything with MySQL was working perfectly fine before, and it is running on a completely different server in my house.

Ok now on to the problem, with my one installation, whenever I startup xbmc, I cannot access anything in my library, and when I look at xbmc logs I get the typical "ERROR: Unable to open database at host" crap.

Now usually this would be a problem on MySQL side, but here is where it gets funky. Now if I goto add source -> Browse -> Network Location and I start typing in an IP address, XBMC crashes, restarts. At that point my library and shares all work fine with no errors what so ever.

I can't figure it out I've looked over my advanced settings, and all my xbmc machines work fine, except this one.

Anyone have any ideas?

here are my log files:

http://stuff.wondergod.com/xbmc.old.log - after initial startup of system
http://stuff.wondergod.com/xbmc_crashlog...160145.log - after entering an ip and xbmc crashes
http://stuff.wondergod.com/xbmc.log - xbmc now restarted and working fine

You're not running a newer build on the other one are you? I know there are some library differences on some of these newer builds.

oh sorry I forgot to mention I'm running the same version 10.1 live on both pc's. In fact I installed them back to back with the same usb key Smile

I will say there is a difference in hardware between the two. One is a Zotac Zbox(works) and the one that is giving an issue is a Foxconn barebone.

Both worked perfectly fine with win7 and XBMC installed on them previously. If all else fails I can put win7 on them again, but I'd prefer to run linux on them since it seems to run a bit smoother once its all setup.

Also I have verified this happens whether I use my Wireless or my Wired connection.

I've completely reinstalled the XBMC Live 10.1 with a fresh download and still happening. I've also deleted the xbmc_video and xbmc_music databases and its still happening.

Any other suggestions?
