WebDT366 with Yatse

Hi All,

Wanted to qualify another piece of hardware for a remote control. As I operate the website http://webdt.org I have some industrial web tablets sitting around. These were used by Crestron, Request and Ambia in the late 90's as home automation controllers.

I modified mine by putting a 4gb transcend 44 pin horizontal disk on module in to replace the standard 500mb SSD. These tablets have no moving parts and boast a 4 foot drop rating. This mod does require some hacking and I have detailed instructions in my forum under the "366 hardware" section.

Anyways I put in XP tablet edition on the 4gb transcend disk and had to bring in Dot Net 3.5 to support Yatse, or Yet Another Touch Screen Experiment. Set up Yatse and wow does this work well. Yatse has provisions to make the artwork and pictures it uses work well on even an 800x600 resolution.

Here is a youtube video link showing this set up in action.

Feel free to visit webdt.org for more information. A how to can be found in both the 366 hardware section as well as the "windows on a webdt366" section.

Yatse developer stated that upcoming versions of Yatse would only support windows 7 due to better touch interface, so you may want to consider installing win 7.

That would be nice however this tablet was made in the late 90's. 500mhz cpu and 512mb of non upgradable ram. Not compatible with Win7. I understand that windows has a better touch experience however that kind of info makes me want to look in to the possibilities of a linux version.
